Club Information
The year was 1995, the “leftovers” of a tryout-scrimmage at Cobb County’s COBB AMATEUR SOCCER LEAGUE tried to get organized as a “new“ team in the over 30 Division of the well known Atlanta League. Per Meek, Greg Viland, Larry Wilk and Jay Moebus were the late comers to the team and just got there in time to play League Game one. Those four are the "leftovers" today from the team that went to the State finals against Datagraphic in 1998 as the "UNKNOWNS", the original founders of the Club that is known today as Saturn Futbol Club.
After a couple of years playing just for fun, Per and Jay decided that it was time to either move on, or change the team into a club system, producing a strong FIRST 11 and try to have others just continue to play and have a ton of fun. The idea did not take very long to become reality, and by the end of the 1998 the CLUB was up and running. 1999 was the year Karon Beyer joined and started the LADY SATURN teams as coach and in 2000 Saturn became home for David Camp's Soccer Club. The additions brought new, priceless vision and support to the club!
Today, Saturn Futbol Club has established its name with pride in the Atlanta and Southern Soccer scene. Saturn teams have become regulars at major soccer events and have established themselves as key players in the main Atlanta Soccer Leagues. The Club features teams in the Women's League, CASL (Cobb Amatuer Soccer League), and Division One teams in the ADASL (Atlanta District Amatuer Soccer League). The Club is very international, featuring players from all over the world. Players talents are important, however the most important thing for us is to give everybody a home in a club that has become a family of friends and will remain just that for the years to come!
Mission Statement
Saturn Futbol Club was formed to create a supreme environment for adult soccer in the United States and to give a home as an organization to players of all adult ages. Saturn Futbol is here to provide an outstanding club system for men and women, and to take them to the ultimate goals they are willing and able to achieve.
